I took a course the summer before entering my university at a local college (so not the university I received a degree from). I was a non-degree student and did not receive any financial aid. During the course, I realized I did not need the course anymore and stopped attending. Because I knew it was not my degree-granting institution, I did not even apply for a withdrawal, so I received an F. I had NO idea that a transcript for this course would be needed for graduate school because I assumed you only need to send transcripts from the institution you receive your degree from.

I must send this to AMCAS, right?

Would the best option be to retake the course and perform well? I was actually receiving an A on the exams before I stopped attending the course. This is really an unfortunate situation because I could have withdrawn, but I was just out of high school and had no idea this option existed.

Yes, you would have to submit a transcript for this class despite the circumstance. You have to submit transcripts for any classes you've taken at a college at any point.
