AMCAS applicants have been advised that US Postal Service delivery to Washington, DC, has been delayed for security reasons, and in some cases rerouted from the main post office. Transcripts, or other mail sent to the AAMC (such as MCAT score release requests or score reports) during the past three weeks may still be delivered, and may never be delivered.

Applicants who have submitted transcripts within this time frame can resubmit, asking registrars to consider using alternate mail carriers, such as Federal Express. (NOTE:
transcripts must be sent directly from the Registrars's office, not from students. This will probably entail extra expense by students because registrars are unlikely to pay for the cost.)

Applicants are also asked to submit all transcripts as far in advance of their deadlines as possible.

To help minimize the impact of such delays, the following transcript deadlines have been extended by AMCAS:

For schools whose whose application deadline is October 15 and transcript deadline October 29, the transcript deadline is extended to November 12.

For schools whose application deadline is November 1 and transcript deadline November 15, the transcript deadline is now November 29.

Nice to see you're back, Gower. Long time no see (but i did put up a shout out on 'another' pre-med board to ya) and glad you're around. Take care! --Trek
