I was just verified and while checking my application I realized that I entered an A insted of a B in an Orgo class, and the AMCAS verifier didn't correct it. Should I do something about this? It raised my GPA by 3 points.

Be safe and correct it

So after you get verified you can make changes to your app?

Also it been longer than a month and I still have not been verify, anyone else in this position?

Sorry for stealing your thread but I did not want to waste room and create a new one.

No you cannot change anything except for updating certain things in your biographical section (like if you move addresses, etc). OP would have to contact AMCAS directly.

There's a verification time thread floating around here somewhere. You probably submitted around peak time, which can take up to 6 weeks for verification.

Notify AMCAS. If they can't change it at this stage, at least you will be able to cite your request as proof that this was a mistake and not intentional dishonesty.

I'm going to go against the grain here.

I assume it was honest mistake. I assume you didn't notice it. I assume amcas reviewers just missed this honest mistake.... that you didn't notice.

If you intentionally entered grades incorrectly, my views would be very different.

If I had done it on purpose I wouldn't have a problem with AMCAS not noticing it.

Whatever medical schools you get into will see your actual transcripts. And think you lied. That's a huge red flag - better safe than sorry.

+1 you will be screwed if they catch that your grades dont match

Yep, this can only hurt you in the long run. Having a B instead of an A wont matter. Contact AMCAS using the academic change request and it will be handled quickly.

This is pretty ridiculous. What does AMCAS do when verifying your app other than checking your grades? It's like the only thing they do, it costs $160, and it takes 6 whole weeks yet they still manage to **** up the one thing they're supposed to do.

I, too, am going to suggest that you "overlook" this and let it be. The "honest mistake" excuse is pretty sound, since if you didn't notice the first time there's no reason why you would go back and check for it after AMCAS verification. Realistically speaking, what are the chances medical schools are going to painstakingly check each and every grade, and even if they did catch this it's highly unlikely they would do anything, especially since AMCAS did not spot it - and it's AMCAS' job to look for deliberate misreporting and honest mistakes alike.

I went ahead and requested the academic change. About 24 hours later the discrepancy was fixed. I was surprised at AMCAS efficiency.

Anyone who says not to change it is a gunner. Luckily OP is Neo and dodged their bullets. I'm out.

Omgash no. Make sure u get this corrected. Schools u get into will probably rescind your acceptance after they get your transcript directly. It may have been an honest mistake now... but noticing it and leaving it be is intentional dishonesty.
