AMCAS verification times change?

I know someone who submitted AMCAS the first week it opened, got a very quick turnaround (like only a couple of days). As I check the verification thread on sdn however, I saw a crazy variation in the duration it took people- like people last year waited up to a month after submitting during certain times of the year. How long would it take if, say, I submitted last week? How long would it take in the worst-case-scenario?

It's usually a safe bet to expect 4-6 weeks for verification. The exception is when you submit shortly after the application opens, meaning the queue is shorter and verification takes less time.
