Ok- so it only took 4 weeks for my app to be verified- but I'm really pissed because some genius over at AMCAS completely neglected to convert my grad school courses. They checked all the grades and said whether they had to change them or not- but didn't compute them. I'm already towards the latter end of the cycle- and I know that's working against me- and that's my fault. But this is such a huge oversight!! How do you completely miss a full school of computations. It wasn't like one course randomly at another school- it was 20 graduate level courses at an Ivy! They checked for consistency with the transcript- they have all the single slashes and X's next to it they just didn't freaking convert the letters. This is annoying because schools will see the first AMCAS app and then 10-15 working days later will get an amendment? Such F---g BS!😡... I'm just venting. Anyone else have stupid errors like this?!!😕

moral support people, comon, even if you don't mean it. Make up a story. Tell me they suck.

They really are awful. They made numerous errors on mine as well (including ignoring some of my classes like they did to you). It took them 14 working days to fix it. Sorry.

Thanks, that surprisingly makes me feel betters.

Wouldn't happen. I'm a liberal with boobs and a passport.

That's funny, really. Anyways, I don't like AMCAS because they act like gimps on the phone. They tried to tell me some BS story about how they calculate GPA the other day and blah blah blah. Not really related to your story, but still, they suck. That's my vent about AMCAS.

Thank you as well. Love me some AMCAS haters.

This story isn't about AMCAS, but it's about AAMC, so I can sympathize with the frustration. I was accepted to a linkage program with Drexel under the condition that I get a certain minimum GPA and MCAT score. Should I achieve both conditions I would start med school the fall after I finish my post-bacc (this last fall). I got above the min. GPA, took the MCAT in May and. . . . AAMC delayed release of my MCAT scores until AUGUST! 9 weeks! A whole month after almost everyone else from my test date had their scores released. Turns out there was a problem with my MCAT test series. The whole time I was waiting, they wouldn't tell me when I would finally get my scores, so I practically lived in front of the computor for 5 weeks. They released my score the week after Drexel's 1st year orientation and the day before classes began. I made it, I got in. I had to defer a year since there was no way I could move to Philly from California in a day. So, yeah, AMCAS, AAMC yuck (But I got into med school, yeah! - which makes me much less upset, I just have to wait a year longer).

No problem. The good news is that schools can still start to process your application and send you secondaries, etc. I did get rejected pre-secondary from a screening school (the mistakes lowered my GPA by 0.09), so if you think the mistakes could get you screened out at some schools I would contact them.

LOL. Well, I am a liberal with a passport too. Sans boobs though. Not everyone in the military is an arch-conservative.

BTW, I was stationed in Hawaii for two years. Awesome experience.

Hey man, relax. Here's the deal. You are still "verified", so you should be able to receive and submit secondaries. That will take a little bit of time. If you submit them to schools prior to getting your AMCAS updated, I would let them know that an update is forthcoming. The extra good news here is that graduate credits have very much less relevance for med schools, so it likely won't affect your admissions much in the first place. Most likely, it'll be an annoyance rather than a waste of time! Good luck!

They haven't verified mine yet. 🙁
