Is this their standard procedure? I mean I selected the options they had for AP credit and followed their guidelines. Am I just getting screwed over??

they accepted my US History credits, but gave it some weird letter instead of a normal grade

That's what they did with mine also...for grade it lists "G", whatever that stands for. I got a big fat X next to some credits I received for advanced standing in math. At my university you are required to take a specific intro level math class, but can test out of it either by scoring high enough on AP Calc or through an exam on campus. I'm not sure what I did to enter that in wrong, but for some reason they wanted it listed as "AP", even though it is technically not an AP exam. Crazy AMCAS.

i dont know what went wrong, but all of my AP credits show up on the AMCAS transcript with a verified letter grade of "G." are all of your AP credits listed on your undergraduate official transcript?

nothing went wrong. they are *supposed* to come up as "G" on your final, verified AMCAS application. this is true even if you did get official grades on your college transcript for these AP classes. check out the amcas application faq, it explains it there. (it essentially makes it so that your AP classes/grades don't factor into your gpa).

don't worry too much over it. as long as you get the credit for it, that's all that matters.

Oops, I think you read that incorrectly. What I meant to say is that I'm not sure what went wrong in the OP's case. But I do know that my AP credits were going to show up as "G" after verification, as I too have read the AMCAS FAQ section from front to back. Thanks for the clarification anyway.
