I've been to the campus, and visited the area, and I was not impressed at all, the facilities seemed ancient, and the feel of the area was not great. i applied, but somehow or another a discrepancy in my transcript caused them to reject me, instead of reapplying in fixing it, i decided not to since I've been accepted to another program. from friends that go to the school, they said they hate it, and want to transfer, visit there, and you'll know why

SAEbrodel,
I have just been accepted and now Im worried. You didnt like it at all. was it just the buidlings or the people

This is a useful thread. I've been accepted to American's program and I'm still waiting to hear back from other places, however, I havent been able to find much info on American. Any advice from someone in the program or who has taken it would be great. How were the classes, the advising, the preparation? Thanks!

I have been accepted to the program as well and am deciding between AU and another program. I had a friend go through it and she only had good things to say about the program. I've also spoken to the director several times and she has been very helpful - she even put me in touch with students who went through the program and got accepted to med school. From what those students said, AU was great (small class sizes, helpful professors, flexible program, high acceptance rate to med school, etc.).

The campus is nice and the lab facilities are OK (not super modern, but not awful either).

AU may not be known for the sciences however that does not mean that they are inadequate. AU is a great school. PM me if you want more info!

When did you guys complete your application and how long did it take for AU to reply back to you guys? Does AU have any direct affiliation with any medical schools and is this a linkage program?

I sent everything in sometime in February and they got back to me mid-March. I dont think there are any linkages.

Hi,

Did you go to AU for premed? If so, how was it? I just got accepted and would love to know more about it. Thanks!

Has anyone learned anything more recent about this program? I'm trying to figure out if I should apply or not. Thank you 🙂
