i have the anatomy high yield 97 ... though i know anatomy hasnt changed but maybe the high yield stuff have ... in any case, do i need to buy a new version or will this be ok

I think the concensus is that First Aid is sufficient for anatomy on the step. So, if you want to supplement with HY '97, you should be ok. Just make sure you know what is in FA also.

The new HY Gross anatomy is very detailed. You need to think twice before deciding to study it.

i see --- i guess i'll stick with my school notes and the old HY for the time being --- im sure after i do questions this will suffice. thanks guys

HY Anatomy is good if you need a raw understanding of anatomy without much of the clinical correlates. I feel its really for people who have a poor background with anatomy.

Instead I wud suggest USMLE RoadMap which has excellent clinical correlates.

I hear the UCV for Anatomy is pretty good. Has anybody used this? Do you think it's worth reading?

I would say UCV Anatomy is "OK". I like it better than some of the other UCV books, but those books in general aren't really my style.

I will say this about it though. It's a fairly quick read. It has lots of good pictures, xrays, and diagrams. However, I haven't read all of it and I don't know that I will. I'm just not crazy about them. I'm sure some people love them though.

I will probably be starting anatomy class soon. (FSU starts May 27, and pretty much only does anatomy through the summer...I think that's where I'm going.) Anyway, I have always found it useful to study with a question book...basically to make sure I'm understanding the material thoroughly as I go along. Can anyone recommend a good question book for anatomy, or will one even be helpful?
