My school splits Anatomy and Physiology into two separate classes. I think I'll only be able to take one of them. So which one do you guys think is most benefecial for Dental School? Thanks!

They're both important...but I think you learn a bit of physiology as you're taking an anatomy class, so I would go for that. And most dschools have you take a gross anatomy course your first year, so I think it would be great to get a leg up on that, since I hear it can be rough!

physio will definately be better prep for the dat if you haven't already taken it.

True...I would actually go with physiology too if you haven't done the DAT yet.

Yea, take physio if you havent taken your DAT yet.

I personally think physio is more interesting than anatomy anyway so I would take it instead.

You are going to get both classes in dental school

Looks like its pretty unanimous.

I took Physio then Anatomy, and I thought Physio really prepped me well for Anatomy. Physio wasn't just mindless memorization so it was easier to find interesting.

Friend took Anatomy then Physio, and got kinda overwhelmed by Physio.

haha so I'd suggest Physio like the other folks.👍

I seem to be opposite to everyone else...

I took Anatomy before taking Physiology as well as took both Bio 1 and 2 prior to both. While A&P would have been nice before taking the Bio Courses, I think having taken both Bio courses as well as Anatomy before taking Physiology made the class a breeze....but I loved both Anatomy and Physiology.

But like everyone else is saying, if you were going to take one before the DAT, I would suggest Physiology....

I agree with the majority. Take physiology. While taking physiology, if it is anything like my school, you learn anatomy as you go along. With physiology you also learn biochemistry, histology, microbiology all in the process. Granted they won't be as in depth as a DS school or even an undergrad course that is devoted to biochem or micro, but you will get a good foundation.
