Hi,

I received a C in Gross Anatomy. I was wondering about my chances for PT school. Does this automatically put me on the bottom of the pile? Should I retake the class at a j.c. (the one I already took did have a cadaver lab) that doesn't use cadavers? I received a B in physiology class and an A in the lab.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm confused as to why you would have taken gross anatomy as a prerequisite, what school would require something like that, and how you would even be allowed to if not in a graduate program? Basic human anatomy and physiology is the requirement for applying to PT school. Some schools have anatomy and phys separately, some combined in a 2 part sequence. Gross anatomy - i.e. cadaver lab anatomy - is something you will do in your first year of grad school. I've never heard of anything like this... maybe some else will be able to help, but I think they will have the same response.

As for regular pre-req A&P, you should consider retaking for a B.

This is our general anatomy class at undergrad. I am aware that having access to a cadaver is unique for undergrad and this is why I am wondering if I should re take a class that is essentially more basic in order to improve my grade.

I am an undergrad at OU and took gross anatomy.. and got a C as well.. the only difference between the 2 classes here is one class dissects the cadavre and is 5hrs, the other has hands on with the cadavre, but does not dissect, and is tested over the same material and is a 4 hr class..
sounds like a stupid difference to me... of course you can spend more time studying than dissecting in the other class, but where's is the fun in that?
