The vet I work with told me the other day that I could come in and look at this anatomy text she owns which she said is the best one available. She told me that unfortunately, it is no longer in print, but it was fantastic and had detailed illustrations - and overall the best she has seen. When I got home I tried to find it online - I know she said the author's name started with a P (I want to say it was something like Papowski), but I couldn't find it. Granted, I can just ask her what it is called when I go into work Saturday - but I was wondering if anyone knew which book she was talking about. I was planning on seeing if I could find a used copy online somewhere being that she absolutely raved about it.

Well, everyone's idea of the best book is different. I think she may have been talking about Pasquini?. It's full of illustrations. It's "Anatomy of Domestic Animals, Systemic & Regional Approach". I sometimes take it and make copies to make my own anatomy coloring book. I found mine online but I have had it for a few years. The ISBN is 0962311421. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, but it's not Pasquini's book as I am familiar with that. I'll have to ask her and I'll post the response either tomorrow or Saturday.

The anatomy text she was referring to is Peter Popesko's Atlas of Topographical Anatomy of Domestic Animals, which is apparently impossible to find. The only copies I found online (3) were between $650-1400. I guess I'll just be looking at hers if I want to reference it.

Wow, such a deal. :meanie: Thanks for passing on the info. I know it is not the same but there is a good chance the veterinary library has a copy too.

I just did a search for the book you recommended; if you're okay with the 2nd edition (1974), I found one listing that's for $196.34. http://www.fetchbook.info/compare.do?search=9780721672755

Still expensive, but it's less, at least. That said, maybe if you actually try to order it from here it'll end up saying they don't really have the book. But just in case it would work out, and you are willing to pay 200 for it, I thought I'd let you know. 🙂

Thanks a lot Serendipity, but unfortunately though they advertise it they don't actually have any in stock - such a tease!
