I don't know why I had myself convinced that taking the GRE on Sept. 30th was fine for all of my schools, but I realized today that I was wrong. Honestly, I don't even remember what made me check today. Cornell is my top choice and they require official scores by the 15th of October. I am so upset that I screwed this up. Statistically speaking, I'm unlikely to get into Cornell anyway--so many applicants so few spaces--but I would have at least been competitive for a spot and I am really mad at myself for losing the opportunity because of stupidity on my part.

At least they're in New York, so the score report only has go through one state. I'm going to send in my app and hope for an ETS miracle.

That's it. I just needed to share my pain. 🙁

I'm sorry! Is there any way to have GRE rush the scores? You might be able to pay extra for it..? I hope it all works out 🙂 :luck:

Thank you, Tpad (what is Tpad--should I know that?).

I checked--ETS does not rush GRE scores. However, VERY good news! I just found a little 2 page sheet of instructions for Cornell's supplemental application and it says the last day to take the GRE is October 1st. I can go on living now. 😀

I hope no one else is in this boat because that felt terrible for the half hour I thought I'd blown it.

No, it's usually fine. Yes they have deadlines but I remember last year some of my scores were a few days late and it wasn't a problem. As long as the rest of your app is taken care of.

Lol - I was *very* uncreative and it is the brand of my laptop... thinkpad 40 ...

Maybe I'll jazz it up with a picture like everyone else 🙂

I'm so glad it is resolved! I have had way too many panic momnets like that, and although the answer fr all of it is you should have started earlier, its a little too late for that now 🙂

No kidding. Before I knew it it was September and I hadn't started yet. I had this same problem when I transferred from community college to 4-year as an undergrad. One day I just realized,"Crap! I have to apply to schools right now."

If I have to go through this again next year, I am starting EARLY. (Famous last words.)🙂

haha how about this for a panic moment - for some reason last year while applying i had the wrong VMCAS deadline in my head (don't ask how, because i still don't know). the worst part is i didn't even realize this until two weeks before the actual deadline. i can't even explain the panic i felt the moment i realized i was a complete idiot for thinking the applications were due a month later than they actually were.

Cornell says to take it by oct1st to ensure timely delivery. Im retaking mine wednesday and not going to worry about it🙂

I did the same thing somehow, only I'd already done about half of my stuff! It was terrible. This year, I've been sure to get everything done early, but I haven't submitted yet because I'm still doing some last minute obsessing/fretting over my PS.
