AMCAS 2003 is now up and running. I hope this goes much smoother then last year.

Good luck everyone!

let me be the first to give u my serious condolences...no human being should go through the torture, mayhem, and mania that these people make u go through.....

this should be regarded as crime against humanity...

little bit piece of advice...if u do decide to call them up, call collect :p

cuz, they will keep u on the phone for 2 hours, and then hang up on u....my bill last summer came around to 95$ they ruined my summer man

Yes, I saw that!

I am entering my new grades as we speak, should I decide to reapply. This is going much faster than last year... :D

Can anyone enlighten me: is there an essay in addition to the personal statement on the AAMC 2003 Application? I thought there was an additional essay last year but I didn't see it in the "worksheet" for 2003.

That was the vision statement. It is now gone.

I went to enter my grades from the past year, and AMCAS is not automatically converting them to AMCAS grades, and they are not showing up in my GPA! Ugh. I was sure that this happened last time...

Do I have to view the tour every single time I login ? I can't seem to bypass it ...

Nope, you don't have to see the tour everytime. But you do have to see it through once completely and then it will take you to the application screen.

For those of us who may be reapplying: Do we really have to reenter everything on AMCAS? They don't have the grades saved? What about transcripts? Do we have to get official transcripts sent again even though they should have them already? Thanks for your help.

I thought I read somewhere that you have to get new transcripts sent if you are reapplying. If so, that sucks!

All done, except for my personal statement. Let's hope I get an acceptance so I don't have to press submit.

If you're a reapplicant, everything you entered last year is still there. Makes it much easier and faster to fill everything out.

I have a question about post-secondary experiences. It won't seem to let me put any date later than December 2002. Are other people having this problem?

Also, I'm a reapplicant and when I try to update my old experiences, it doesn't save the changes. I think I'm going to have to delete them and re-enter them.

•••••Yep!! I'm having the same problem - looks like med schools will just wonder why I'm randomly going to quit my job at the end of the year!

Thanks Watcha, I appreciate the sympathy, but I'm pretty far from "Califronia". :)

The good thing is that I'm already done entering my coursework. It took about 30 minutes this year versus about 80 hours last year. TMDSAS made me enter it all again (I have 91 classes at 5 schools!).

good luck to you all. type in as much info now. it takes a few days for everyone to start logging in and flooding the system.

I feel for you guys! Hope AMCAS has been real busy fixing bugs! :D

Should I send in the transcripts now? There's gotta be a way to check when they get them.. anyone know?

I think they said we could send them last March. Big mistake. I found out...in July, mind you, that they "lost" one of my transcripts. They said they never received it. So I wound up sending them 3 copies fedex to be sure. Because of this mishap I didn't wind up getting my application verified until the end of October. But I did send them earlier than now. I wish I waited until late May or early June. Oh well.
