For those still in private practice can you list billing companies that you have been happy with? I need to switch and am in the SE region of the U.S.

Private practice here and head of our group - have met with many of them - ended up staying with our current one (Coronis) after lengthy back and forth and looking elsewhere seriously at a few of the other ones

After having been in private practice many years, and through 3 billing companies, they are all really the same. No matter who you use, you will have to call them every 3-4 months and rattle them to make sure they stay on top of your billing. You cannot be complacent with any of them.

Don’t they work on commission? Should be self motivated one would think.

They aren’t that motivated. They take the low hanging fruit, send a bill to the patient 3 times, and close the account. If the patient never pays from those three statements, you get no balance payment. That is the modus operandi of all billing companies.
