gasblaster - take note - I think I finally learned how to work the messageboard. It's a miracle!
It's like you grew up right before my eyes.

You're not alone. Only 1 interview total for me. Anybody else have so few? Is this normal?
Hang in there man. This is the first week of MSPE. I think it's very early for programs because MSPE came out so early this year. Let the superstars have their glory, and then us "average-ish" people can go in for the kill - heh heh-.
I'm a DO. My school uploaded my MSPE on 9/28, and it was viewable by acgme programs on 10/1, AOA programs are able to see it on 10/15. Check out the ADTS on ERAS. And get on your school if they haven't uploaded it to ERAS yet.Did any DO applicants get any love this week? Is it true that our MSPE's get released on 10/15 instead?

What are you guys using to decide which interviews to go to and which ones to cancel/decline? I know there is the list of the "top" anesthesia programs but when it comes to the middle guys i can't decide how to choose (especially when their interview dates all overlap and it is either one or the other).

Yes, it is a good problem to have (and honestly I am surprised by it). No matter what your CV/stats look like, I think it is in every medical student's nature to second guess themselves. I have 15 scheduled right now (recently canceled one to make room for a new interview). Location seems to be the general consensus for how to choose amongst the "middle ground" programs. I wonder is it polite to withdraw from the programs once you cancel their interview or does it matter?
I would like to hear from Cali programs as well. I am also holding out for UNC but it doesn't look like anyone has heard from there yet either. I am only scheduling a single prelim interview at my home institution. Through my discussions with the PD I believe I can stay here if I need to and worst case scenario I can SOAP into something before I sacrifice time that could be used for more anesthesia interviews. I have no free weeks to offer so if I take anymore it is going to be at the expensive of another program's interview. As I said above, I have 15 scheduled but I wonder if that is too many and fatigue might get the better of me. I have the overwhelming desire to go anywhere that offers an interview. lol
