SO I am new SDN. Let me explain my story. I failed to match last year. I was in the process of gunning for IM, but had a change of heart for Anesthesia. I ended up picking up an TRI spot at a community hospital. I am looking to reapply to Anesthesia this year, except my new strategy is to increase the sample size. my scores are ok

USMLE step 1: 230
USMLE Step 2 CK: 228

my question is do I really have a chance if I apply to 60+ programs?

Tough to answer the "do I have a chance" (a variant of "what are my chances") thread. Did you fail to match the PGY-1 year as well as the advanced Anesthesia spot as well? What were the weak spots in your app?

I am not sure. I think it involves getting better letters of recommendations, which I am obtaining during my transitional year. My class rank was the top 2/3rds. I think my weak-point was my LOR.
