So... I'm going to an emergency med conference this fall and participating in their "Sim Wars" competition:

Video is pretty long, but you don't have to watch much to get the general idea.

I'm on the board for the anesthesia student interest group at my school, and this got me thinking... does anybody do these kind of things in anesthesia? I think that it'd be cool as hell to do something like this with the simulator. We could have a handful of teams (1st and 2nd years against each other, and 3rd and 4th years against each other) that would "compete" through some very basic simulations. Set the whole thing up in a tournament style with X number of rounds...

Does anybody else have a school that does this? What about residency programs? I think that it could generate a lot of med student interest in anesthesia. Do others agree?

epic posting fail: 184 views/no replies!

I will take that to mean that nobody else does this/might not really be a great idea... I might just bounce the idea off of our faculty sponsor and see what she thinks.

I'm a resident and yes, we do sim wars at our institution.

Thanks for the replies, ideally we would have students participating... but we would probably need to have a resident/staff to help guide us (especially us underclassmen!)
