Hello, I am an anesthesiology resident in the south and I heard a rumor that I would like some more information on.
Specifically it is about making cash during residency. After house payment and tax, really there is not much left. So moonlighting is an option, but I heard that some people up north are signing on with private groups / hospitals early.
Since the job market is so nice right now, I have heard that resident are signing on as early as their intern year with a group. The group pays them during their residency (4000-5000 a month) for certain obligations after they are done (time served, compensation of pay, more call, whatever).
Any ideas? Any confirmations? How to go about this, if true?
