Hi,

I am currently an M2 starting an anesthesiology club at my school. Does anyone have any ideas they may be able to suggest?

I am only planning for now to have anesthesiologists come in for the usual presentation/question and answer lunch time talk, maybe next semester in the fall I could set up an intubation workshop.

Ditto what ThinkFast said regarding workshops.

Our group has also done some work with setting up shadowing experiences. We try to set up some of the lectures so that they correlate with class experience (ie: during head and neck anatomy, we had our airway lecture; I assume anything pharm would also work).

For those getting ready to decide, we have the program people and current residents come to discuss getting in, etc.

make it really boring and tell people that anesthesiology sucks, so that your class won't have 20-25 people applying for residency like the rest of us this year......

That's what I'm doing for our next meeting!

Stony Brook has like 15 of a class of 100 going into anesthesia!
