Hey guys, hope yall are doing well. Just wanted to get some insight on my chances of matching into Anesthesia. Currently a 3rd year DO student. Passed Level 1 first attempt, did not take Step 1. 600 on Level 2 , got a 245 Step 2. Honored all but 2 clinical rotations. Have some research but no publications. Decent volunteer experience. Good LORs and applying very broadly to DO friendly programs. Any insight would be helpful. Thank you guys!

I’m no expert but I would think the combo of no Step 1 + 245 Step 2 + DO + no pubs would make you DOA considering how competitive anesthesiology has gotten in recent years. I guess it depends on what kinds of applicants those DO-friendly programs are taking. What do your advisors say?
