what is the angular momentum quantum number ( l ) for the orbital from which a Mg atom loses 2 e- to form a Mg+2 ions?

b)1
c) 2
d) 3

Mg's valence electrons are in its s subshell. The s subshell has a quantum number l of 0. The angular momentum number is 1 for p orbitals, 2 for d orbitals, and 3 for f orbitals.
