The Kaplan book states that in Operant Conditioning, Negative Reinforcement links the lack of behavior with a reward, which means the action is less likely to be repeated.
However, I've been taught from psychology classes, and searching on the web, that Negative Reinforcement is the reinforcement of a behavior with the reduction of a negative substance/stimulation. I.E increasing the behavior by taking away something painful/negative.
Any clarification?
