Animal Histology

I know that animal histology is an important topic during first year medical school. I was wondering if you guys would recommend taking a course at the undergrad level. Would it allow me to better understand the material in med schools? Or would it be wiser to take an easier undergrad course and just save animal histology for when I get into med school?
