SO i did a kaplan q that said it's mandatory to involve the married partner of a woman who comes to you asking for a sterilization.

then i did uw and they specifically said no the partner doesn't need to be involved, married or not, the patient is the boss of their own body.

what's the bottom line heree?

ideally, you want to bring the spouse in and talk about it. Ethically, a physician really shouldn't be doing a sterilization procedure without getting the full story, but legally, there's nothing stopping you from snipping 18 years that walk in.
