Hello everyone,
I am a 4th year medical student in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Bahrain. I'm seriously considering Australia as my first option for residency, as my prior first choice (Canada) is mission impossible. I have a Canadian PR, but it just seems VERY difficult for IMGs to get matched.
I just have a few questions regarding Australia. I'd really appreciate some advice.
Do I need Australian clinical experience (electives) when I'm applying to a junior doctor position? I've already applied for an elective in Canada, is that good enough?
Basically I'd like to know what I should do to get a junior doctor position, other than passing the AMC exam.
And what are my chances in general if I pass the AMC exam.
Thank you.
