so i was talking to my aunt today and she asked me if i knew another name for increased snot production? she claimed a nurse had called her increase in snot production something else.... she gave me the example of pink eye is to conjunctivitis as increased snot production is to ______? anybody know what the nurse might have said to her?

Rhinitis? the sorta fancy word for a cold

Rhinorrhea? Lots of runny nose (like diarrhea of the nose)

Bronchorrea? means lots of phlegmy like stuff produced...I guess not really from the nose

Those are my best guesses. Don't you just love having to learn med-speak?

Either rhinorrhea, which is defined as increased mucus production in the nose, or rhinitis, which is inflammation in the nose (usually manifested by a runny or stuffy nose).
