If you have a benzene ring with an amine substituent, then this will be a weak base. However, if you add one more substituent, I was thinking that electron withdrawing groups like Cl and NO2 will make it less basic (is that correct?). Then, will electron donating groups will make it more basic? such as OCH3?
I'm talking about question 22 in subject test 3. Any ideas?

yea- just think of it like this.
Anything e- withdrawing will make acidic, eg NO2
anything e- donating eg activating, will make basic.
the more basic substituents you have, the more basic, and vice versa

I know it gets confusing sometimes, and i get mixed up.
i think just make a list of withdrawing and activating, including cl, etc as withdrawing, and just memorize it.

but yes i believe you are correct
