Hello SDN,
I've posted several times, but I waited 3 years until I thought I would be ok to apply. Unfortunately, I got rejected from my only interview LLU.
-Stats:
International but changing to permanent resident soon.
applied late (completed and sent mid october)
B.A. Spanish 2009 2.0sgpa/2.52ogpa/3.1 nsgpa (several Cs,Fs on prereq)
Postbac+Second bachelor Cell/Molecular bio 2010~present: ~90credits 3.82.
ogpa:3.00 sgpa:2.97 bcp:3.12
I'm currently taking classes to finish my second bachelor (summer).
DAT:22AA/23TS/22PAT lowest 19 RC(2012)
shadowing/working at dental office: 900+ hours.
volunteer: only 20 hours.(school fulltime+friday/saturday work at dental office).
No research.
I'm sending emails/phone calls to schools to receive feedbacks on my app, but I wanted to get opinion here, since some schools just give you a general feedback.
I understand that I might need to do masters program, but, at the moment it would be nearly impossible, because my significant other is trying to get into professional school as well so we are trying to save as much as possible.

How could I improve my chances this cycle with only 3 months away, besides getting As, applying early?

Sorry for the long post and thank you..

Since you have a very low GPA, you need to minimize as many deficiencies as possible. You need to work on getting more volunteer hours; you also should get some research under your belt. Applying early is an absolute must for your case. How many schools have you been applying to?

DAT - Perfect
Volunteer hours/experiences - ramp them up and some more diversity
Personal statement - ramp it up
Schools - Network with everyone of them in the area now and make appointments with deans
Coursework - If your up to it I would enroll in a one year MS degree. It will not only show your dedication but it will leave you with other options if your wait continues - Adjunct professors at CC make about 45k
Apply Early and Broadly

Thanks for replying. I'm contacting some volunteer centers hopefully start next week or asap. I've applied 8 schools.

hey periopocket thanks for replying. I'll see what I can do with MS but currently that option seems not possible. mind if I pm you with few questions?
Apply to at least 15 schools.
I am narrowing down the school list using ADEA guide book.

Do you think that besides my horrendous GPA, being international and applying late was 2 big negative aspect of my app?
Thank you

Apply on day 1 and apply to more than 15 schools. Get more volunteer hours.
