I had a previous post re: my situation (long story short: low undergrad gpa, considering post-bacc, but don't know if i'll get in due to the 3.0 minimum gpa).

Now I'm wondering if I should explore another option... After some research, I found out I can do a second bacc (Physical Sciences Department: Chemistry) at my undergrad university... granted that I take the prerequisites for the major. Would this be a better option so it can raise my undergrad gpa?

Sure, it could, but it will certainly have it's costs (more $, more time).

If you do well in a post-bacc (on your own or through a program) and the MCAT, you could still have shot at MD and/or DO. Doing a 2nd bacc could raise your GPA a bit more, but won't assure a better outcome over the previous option. I'd say just start doing your pre-reqs independantly or go after an SMP. Do well on the MCAT and you'll be about where you'd be (or ahead) as you would going for the 2nd bach.

Yeah, I don't know if you should to another whole bachelor's degree. It could take awhile and be very costly and might not be necessary. I think the first question I'd ask is how did you do in your pre-req classes? Did you retake any classes as an undergrad (this will influence how your gpa is calculated)? How many credits would you need to take to get your gpa up to where you need it?

You can do your own postbac program just by taking whatever pre-reqs you need and some upper division science classes to get your gpa over the hump. That might be way more time and cost effective for you.
