Another Sci GPA Question

Thanks again to everyone who helped me a thread or two ago.


One more question, I actually have taken some higher level sci courses and have done extremelly well (B+'s, A's), but my first semester of Gen Chem I, I got a C- the first time and a D+ the second time. Will they take the higher grade? Or since I did awesome in the higher classes will they take the C-?

okay...well, i don't think any school takes lower than a "C". so a C- probably won't count. also when you do the apps online, you have to put in all the grades that you got and calculate the GPA with all of the classes that you took. However, i think only NYCPM takes the higher grade, but that C- probably won't be accepted. you should just call and ask the different schools that you want to go to.

Say you get a really bad grade in one basic requirement (like say a C- or D+, and let's say it's in something like Orgo)...

That class won't be accepted? As in, even if you did well in all other semesters, you've got to take it again?

What if you finish everything first, take the MCAT and do well, and then apply...will they provisonally accept or consider you while you retake the class?

I would never count on conditional acceptance especially if you want one of the more selective schools.

Man, thats a bunch of garbage, I have nearly aced the rest of my sci pre-reqs, and now I have to pray that I can take stupid Gen Chem I over again, what a truly bunch of garbage.

Well there has to be some type of standard. C- is gen chem is not a good sign. Take it over and ace it like you did the other classes.
