This is my first time posting on this website, but I've been a long time reader.

I'm considering applying to medical school right now, and I was wondering what you all thought my chances are.

My cum gpa is a 3.44, and my science gpa is a 3.33. I took the MCAT three times, the first time I got a 23, the second time I got a 22, and the third time I got a 29.

I pass/failed my 2nd sem of gen chem my freshmen year, but retook it and got a B. Basically I have all B's in chemistry and biology, but mostly A-'s and A's in O-Chem, and physics.

I am planning on applying strictly D.O. I think. Any input is appreciated.

Do you have god EC's and LORs?

With good recs you should get in somewhere. It's a crap shoot.

Have you considered DCOM? I don't know if you are a non-trad, but they seem to be very friendly in this first application cycle to non-trads.

I guess I am a non-trad. I graduated from college in 2004, and am in grad school right now doing my MPH. I think my EC's and LOR should be decent.

Maybe you should consider throwing your hat in the ring for DCOM this year. There is still time.

Send Dr Leo and Jody an e-mail. Dr. Leo and Jody Caldwell are in admissions at DCOM. They will answer any of your questions and are VERY cool!

I am going to wait until June to start the process. I don't want to rush it.
