Hi everyone,
I've been reading these forums for awhile and just recently joined. Nice to meet you all! Anyways, I'm just looking for a bit more advice on what I should do next. I applied to dental schools this past cycle, 2 interviews and I'm on 2 waiting lists right now. If I don't get in this year, I'm wondering what I should do next.

Stats:
3.43 GPA
3.2 sGPA
18PAT
16QR
23RC
18BIO
18GC
16OC
17TS
18AA -- I'm thinking the DAT probably hurt me the most...

I have pretty goods ECs. D-I athlete for 4 years, member of 2 different clubs, 3 years research experience, 80 hours shadowing, play the piano

I'm graduating in a month so I'm trying to decide if it would be worth it to go get a masters or go find a job and reapply this June.

Any thoughts?

I really appreciate the advice!

Where did you get your interviews if you don't mind me asking?

I'd retake the DAT ASAP and get 20+, that would definitely give your app some extra kick. I know its easier said then done, but honestly your DAT is kinda on the low end, especially with that GPA.

How many hours of science and undergrad do you have? I would consider taking upper level biology classes instead of a masters if you don't have that many hours. It would raise your science GPA and give you something to do in the year off. You don't have to take a full load if you can't afford it, just 2-3 would do if you supplement it with other stuff.

Maybe shadow/volunteer/work part time as well to fill in your schedule.

Defenitly retake the DAT as soon as you can. Your total scienc eis what is hurting you. If you can get that up to around a 20 that will also bring your academic average up to 20+ and then you should have no problem getting in... I don't think I would go towards a masters just yet...Focus on the DAT and save yourself a lot of time and money👍

Some schools have a section cut-off at 17. Def retake 🙁

thank you for the advice guys!
you've pretty much confirmed what I've been thinking. Sounds like the best plan would be to retake with a 20+ and apply early and to more private schools (another mistake I made).

Awesome teeth - I am a biochemistry major so taking a few science classes wouldn't have a huge impact on my sGPA although it would certainly help.
