Patient has an RPD and currently has premolars to lateral (bilateral) existing with rest of anteriors and posteriors missing. If we give the patient an implant will this help:
- increase retention of the RPD
OR
- move the axis of rotation of RPD posteriorly

I'm confused 😕
Thanks..

Forgot to mention that the implant will be placed in the posterior. This is the maxillary we are talking about..

Also, what is the ideal thickness of the impression material for a custom tray?

Someone told me it was 2-3 mm, but the exam had answer choices of 2 or 3 mm...so is it 2 or 3? Can't find this anywhere. Thanks.

the ans. is 1mm. final impression suppose to be thin. if it's more than 1mm then you have to retake the impression
