Anyone use any answering service out there they rec?

We about $200 a month for minimal service as I only get about 1 call a week, so I am really unsure what I am paying for

if you are only getting a call a week, give patients your cell number. or set up a separate cell phone account, that you can turn off if necessary...

Hospital operator handles mine. I get less than one page a month.

Get a google phone number (free) and link it to your cell phone. This way you have choices- you can answer or not, have it click to message and then listen to the message later, and have a pre-recorded message for the patients (e.g. I don't care if your dog ate your Percocet, I am unwilling to write for anymore to replace those lost or canine consumed....)

I agree with algosdoc. Google voice is amazing. Def avoid giving your cellphone directly. Many of these patients don't have a concept of boundries.

Paying $90/mo with Dexcomm. They are adequate. But I like this Google Voice idea...

My dental buddy does the same. Do they just call the office number and that is linked to the google voice number?

The way mine is set up- the google phone number IS the office number, that then rings direct to my cell. Or you can have a message on your office answering machine to have them call a google phone number that then relays to your phone. Advantages: they don't ever get your cell phone number and you can screen calls. It does not solve the problem of patients that call and leave a message but when you try to call back on your number hidden cell phone, they won't accept the call. In those cases I note that I tried to call but their phone blocked my call. I do not unblock my cell phone number in order to call patients from my cell phone.

You can also set up to call from google voice. The way this would work is when u want to call from Google voice, it will call you first then the person on the other line, hence, it's like a central linking entity. I would recommend you try this with your friends, buddies, etc, then you'll have system down.
