Any ACFAS attendees?

Those are precisely why I avoid going to ACFAS lol. I'll take my comfy jeans and shoes and a half days worth of lectures.
Have taken the last 4 years off from the conference. It’s that same people giving the same lectures. Any new people lecturing are inexperienced fellows regurgitating whatever their attendings teach them or friends/family/wives of some the annual lecturers.
All while guys like Schuberth and Christensen (who are still practicing) are not invited to lecture.

Comfort wasn’t my point. At APMA you’ve got a lot of shrubs walking around who look like they haven’t bought a new pair of cargo pants and Rockports in years. Go to an orthopedic seminar and they come looking a little more professional. That’s what this crowd was like.
Got to fanboy around Bob Anderson. It was a good day.
I get what you mean, but I feel like a lot of the ACFAS feel is more pissing contest than education. I'll stay with my 20 year old rockports and cargo pants (LOTS of pockets) and to each their own.
On that note, has ANYTHING really changed in the past 15 years besides wound vacs?
The Bob Anderson led sports session last year was good. I can’t think of any others that stood out though. Didn’t go this year.
It’s still the best podiatric seminar given (though that may be like being the thinnest person at fat camp).
I enjoyed the seminar, especially when there are panelists pissing on one another.
There were some newer topics and it was also good to see and feel some of the newer hardware options.
The scientific chairman this year is a good guy who is trying to change things up a little and shake up the good ol’ boys club.
Waste of time. Same stuff. Going to abofas next year. Going to pay 3x Ortho price and wear a Scarlet letter around my neck
Same lectures. Better set up than New Orleans last year which was amazingly inconvenient with hotels scattered around everywhere. I just went because someone gives me CME money and time off and chance to see friends. If you are in private practice and going meant not producing then you wasted your time and threw money out the window.
Speaker talks about how they do a certain procedure commonly done by all out colleagues. Dicusses papers that both support and contradict said procedure. Says literature "is still out" or "lacking" and proceeds to do the procedure they want to do (usually driven by industry).

I know these guys very well. Some on the personal level. In my honest opinion, APMA and acfas will always be the good ol boys club.
Those shrubs are probably multimillionaires... while most of the ones walking around in acfas conf are all big hat and no cattle ... just saying ...
