I will not be applying yet and due to my location and not exactly knowing my next location I will have to eventually estimate schools to apply. I am taking the MCAT this year and was wondering if it is best to do a masters program or extra classes or just spend time volunteering and shadowing

Thank you I am just worried that taking a year off will hurt my chances

Usually a Masters program is pretty useless. Do you need to boost your undergraduate gpa - if so, concentrate on that.

I have a good gpa so far I just was wondering what else I should do in the year I will have to wait thank you for the advice I also was not sure if taking extra classes may hurt me

Taking extra classes won't hurt you (if you get great grades), but if you need more research or clinical experience or nonmedical community service to beef up an application, a glide year is an opportunity to pick a job and/or volunteer position that would make for pertinent information for update letters while applying and/or generally make one's application better.

Thank you I volunteer at a hospital on post and trying to also volunteer at the local hospital and try to find more shadowing opportunities it has been hard to find a dr to shadow here
