Any Asians getting interviews at Meharry, Morehouse, Howard?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I interviewed at Meharry earlier this month; didn't apply to Morehouse or Howard.

I should have applied...black guys are cute 😍

All of them? Even Don King?

OK I knew someone would say something about making a generalization...I just mean I think there are more cute black guys than cute other race guys, just personal preference. No, Don King is not cute :scared:

Just wondering if any asians have gotten interviews at the three big URM private schools.

I was interviewed in december and was placed in their acceptance range a month later (basically a waitlist)...there was another asian who interviewed with me but he was from tennessee...good luck!

I don't think it should matter what school you apply to or whether or not the school is historically black/minority-based. This thread is equivalent to me asking, "Any blacks getting any interviews at the remaining 122 accredited allopathic medical schools here in the U.S?" It's not necessary.

Nevertheless, I wish all the best to those of you who are applying :luck:

hey, I actually know a few indians at Meharry. i know about 4, but that doesn't mean there's not more.

ps... one of the most beautiful girls i've ever seen wasa student at meharry... she was studying at the vanderbilt library, damn, miss those days.

You're in denial. You know Don King has a nice butt. 😱

I interviewed earlier this month and received my acceptance range notification exactly 3 weeks later. Anyone know of any information regarding acceptances ranges?

I'm filipino by the way.

Medical school applications are too expensive for me to apply to schools that aren't interested in indian-american applicants. If I am not accepted this year by the other schools, I will include/not include the above three schools next year depending on my likelihood for acceptance. In order to judge how many indian people are interviewed I posted this thread. I know ethnicity is not everything, but all three of these schools make a point of mentioning their interest in promoting the education of URMs. Ethnicity may not be everything, but it's worth considering when applying.

I never used the categorization "blacks." URM indicates a host of peoples. Additionally, you are suggesting that the number of URMs enrolled in the three above schools is inversely proportional to the number of URMs enrolled in the other 122 schools. This is simply not true (reference: MSAR)

I did not know that threads were to be posted based on an objectively determined value of necessity. I thought mere curiousity deemed a thread 'necessary.'

Thank you - good luck to you too.

Sorry, just to let you know that med schools (I was told by an admissions committee) do not consider indian-americans as URM's. Indian and asian american students are not included in such a category because the numbers are "proportionally significant nationwide" as quoted to me by the director of minority recruitment and admissions at Baylor. URM's are generally those that are latino, hispanic, native american, african american (sorry if I left a group out). Not to discourage though but there is that distinction for med school. Good luck with the app process!

Dude, you are a fellow Indian American.
DO NOT apply to such schools for the sole purpose of getting in!

Please don't go out there saying I don't want to apply to schools that don't accept Indian Americans WTF!

C'mon straighen that back up and explore other schools 👍
