2025-2026 Morehouse Secondary Essay Prompts

All 200 words

1. Give an example when you have shown resilience and how you would overcome academic adversity if encountered in medical school.

2. In what ways do you plan to contribute to the Morehouse School of Medicine community, both during your time as a student and beyond?

3. Imagine you’re a healthcare provider working at a community clinic with limited resources. You’re responsible for distributing a small number of free glucose monitors to patients with diabetes. You have two patients who qualify: one is highly engaged, follows care instructions, and has shown consistent improvement. The other struggles with managing their condition due to low literacy, language barriers, and unstable housing, and often misses appointments. You only have one monitor left. Who do you give it to—and why? How would you navigate this situation in a way that reflects a commitment to health equity?

This year they have set a minimum MCAT of 498

Good luck to all applying!

Good luck everyone applying here this cycle. I spoke to admissions this morning they will be increasing the class size this upcoming year. It is also true that they switched from p/f grades to letter grades. And the mcat screen score is also 498. They did mention that the average mcat for accepted students increased this year. I just hope they give students with low 500s and sub 500s a chance because being there are limited number of hbcu schools and its already hard for us to be admitted to certain schools due to the end of DEI. Good luck everyone!

That is all true! I am a student in the MSMS program, I will also add they are now requiring mandatory attendance as well for every class starting this school year

Hello, is it worth it to apply to Morehouse if i have lived in Atlanta for 6 years so far but set my state on AMCAS as Florida?
Yes, its worth applying they take students considered oos all the time. As long as you fit the schools mission and are over the mcat and gpa cutoff you have a good chance
