I just recently got into road bicycling (not on the road on trails), I was wondering if any med students out there have some advice for a beginner and good websites to point to? Also when do you make time for the long rides?

I assuming from your username you are an OSU med student...I went to undergrad there...there is an active cycling club I participated in for awhile there...you can get some good advice there, they generally ride out to plain city every Saturday and many other spur of the moment rides.

Hit me up with a PM if the email to get on the list-serve.

Try www.bikeforums.net
It's extremely active and has all the bike info you could ever dream of. I've been cycling for many years, but have certainly cut down since I started med school.

Not a med student but saw your thread as I was scanning the forums.

I bike... check the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy website for rail trails in your area. I bike on one in NH which is great. It's only about 13 miles round-trip right now, but it goes over bridges, through a lake, through the woods, etc.. (You could either do the trail round-trip twice to make your ride longer, or link up with the road.) It's very scenic and great that it's traffic-free. The surface is hard-packed gravel (very fine so it is easy to ride on.)
