Currently a MS3, about 2nd percentile (hopefully) in my class from an average stage school in mid west. Step1: 220, step 2: 235 (hopefully 🙂. Third year: about half H and half P. Do I have a good chance to apply for anesthesiology at all? If so, how about schools in NC like UNC, wake or Duke? Thanks!

Yes and yes. Aim for 240+ on CK. If you really wanna go to those schools and have no ties to that area, doing an away there could be helpful.

Sorry, and yes I meant 'quartile'. I am a late starter for gas, and my latest meeting with our fourth year course director was not the most encouraging: I was old that I need at least 230 in step 1 to be considered. While I cannot change the past, I am aiming for a better step 2 for sure. Any advice will be really appreciated.
