I'm going into my senior year of undergrad as a psych major, my cumulative GPA is ~2.95 but I got a 3.5 my junior year so if I keep that up I am hoping to graduate with ~3.25. I have a ton of W's which I feel is basically going to ruin any chance I have at getting into a post-bacc program.

I have taken two introductory bio classes, and got C's in both👎 Ideally, I would like to do a formal post-bacc program that allows me to start from scratch in terms of prereqs.

My SAT scores were: 670 verbal, 650 math, 700 writing

My strong point would probably be my experience. I began working as a dental assistant in my neighborhood when I was 15, and I did that part-time for about 3 years, and then during summer/winter breaks from college. That's how I became interested in dentistry, but I started college as a business major because I didn't think I would be able to complete so many years of school.

Is there any chance of me getting into a decent post-bacc program? Should I study and take the GREs? What else can improve my chances?

All responses will be hugely appreciated!

Long story short, I ended up as a psych major but my dream truly is to become a dentist. I am feeling pretty hopeless right now.🙁

It's possible. However, how sure are you that you will be able to take your GPA from a 2.95 to a 3.25, a .3 increase in one year. I think that will be hard, but for it to be possible, you'll need to take more credits then any of your other years and you'll need a 4.0. But, considering you are able to get that done, your GPA should be fine, and you'll need to study for the GRE do well in that, or take your DATs and do well that, then apply and I should you should be fine. And, SAT scores don't really matter after you start college. Good luck!

Are you interested in any postbac programs in particular? I have some work experience in admissions at the Scripps program, so I can tell you that your SAT scores are good, so no need to take the GRE. However, work really hard to get that cumulative 3.25! It's a bit on the low side, but it shouldn't preclude you from consideration.

Definitely explain your W's in your personal statement or in a separate letter. Your C's in bio would be a red flag, but maybe you can get A(s) in some other math/science course(s). Get strong letters of recommendation and write a really compelling personal statement, and you could at least get an interview.
