Any chances of interview invite in the spring?

I'm curious about this too. There's no doubt that significantly less invites are sent in the spring, but I would still be interested to know what the chances are.

its not spring yet. its winter. do a search of past years; january seems to have a fair bit of invites then it bell curves off in february, etc.

I concur with Carlene. The peak time for interview invites is usually around late January/early February. At this point we are nearing the crest, which will round out and drop off in less time than it took to get there, given the fact that most schools are finished interviewing by the end of March (although a few interview into April, and a very few into May - Drexel comes to mind). I guess you can think of it like a roller coaster: it takes its time getting to the top, building your anticipation, then peaks and drops rather quickly. By the time the ride is all over, you either feel exhilirated or you feel like throwing up.

Don't freak out guys, most schools invite ppl out until April. If you were an August MCATer, most of your interview invites will probably come in the spring, not the fall. How early you got your secondaries in also effects the timing of the invites.

It seems like most interview invites were sent out in the fall. Does anybody know a breakdown on this topic.

I don't know the exact breakdown but I think it's basically the middle of the interview season so don't worry if you haevn't heard much yet. I haven't heard from around 10-15 schools yet even though I have been complete for months as are a couple of my friends. Also other posts on the board seem to suggest that a fair amount are still waiting to hear for responses from various schools.

It's a time consuming process so don't lose hope yet plus it isn't even that late in the interview season.

I just suddenly got two interview invites in the past week (one from a school I'd nearly written off) after having heard nothing for a month and a half or so. I think they'll be picking up again post-holidays.

I took the august mcat and my only 2 interviews were both in March, one at SLU and one at USF. I was put on the waitlist at SLU, but took myself off once I got in at USF. I was definitely stressing though since it was getting pretty close to the deadline in the spring, but yes interviews are given in the spring.

I really like that analogy. I feel like I'm on the creeping creaking clanking climbing part of the rollercoaster (d'ya like that alliteration?), where you suddenly see how high the drop is and you're really excited because you've been waiting in line for the ride for a really long time, but you also already feel like puking because you just ate a funnel cake and cheese fries.

and by funnel cake and cheese fries you mean expensive airline tickets and secondary fees? 😀

the most expensive queasy feeling ever... 😎

this is definitely not the peak of the season. rather, it's the tail end during which we find out whether we're the last batch of interviewees or the lowly rejections.

prob not the peak but there are alot of interview notifications to send out; if you are a good applicant a school is not gonna toss you out at this point
