Hi, all future dentists,
I am wondering if you have set any personal goals for upcoming year. If yes, mind sharing them? also, mention your plan to achieve these goals.
Thank you.

🙂

Graduate! 😛

1) Take the DAT
2) Get into dental school
3) Lose 25 pounds
4) Party like its 1999

I am an undergrad, but my goal for this year is to get a gpa > my cumulative gpa both semesters this year. Also other goals include: joining 1 or 2 clubs.

Keep a 3.0-3.5 average for my DS1 year. Those grades will indicate a pretty solid mastery of the material. Since I have no interest whatsoever in specializing, only in becoming the best broad-spectrum general dentist I can become, my conscience is the only authority I have to worry about answering to 😀

Like Bill, I also want to stay sane (it's all relative). Rather than focus on GPA I'm going to try to keep my class rank in the top 25%. I'm not committed to specializing, but I don't want to close any doors before I'm in the position to open any.

Sorry, I realize I forgot to put in my goals.

1. Get accepted to a dental school that I want to go.

2. Quite possibly look for more info about specialty and potential PhD programs.

3. Continue to train my back muscle and endurance(thus, not going to lose weight 🙁

4. At last, earn enough money to go on trips around the world.

Thanks for sharing your goals.

There is NO difference between the DDS and DMD degree.

You do not have to have a Ph. D to teach at dental school.

There is far more to this answer, but that is all I have time for.
