any Grenadian students in SGU SOM?

I am just curious to know if there are presently any grenadian students in SGU SOM. What were the requirement for getting accepted and if you don't mind how are you paying for school? Also were you required to live on campus or not? Did you have to take the MCATS?

Yes there are always a handful of Grendadian as well as St Vincent students in every class. They are usually the cream of the crop of Grenada and St Vincents. Granted there are other really bright students that opt for University of West Indies, but "the locals" of SGU are usually the top of their class. They are actually in like a BS/MD program where they attend undergraduate as well as medical education.

As to the way they finance their education, they don't have to pay anything. In fact the nation of Grenada/St Vincent funds majority of the bill and SGU foots the rest of the bill. So they get funded by SGU and their home country who pays for their housing, food, airfare etc... even during their residency they are supported. The only catch is that they need to serve a good portion of their career as a physician in Grenada/Vinnies. They actually have the option to pay back their respective gov't instead of serving as a doc there if they really don't want to stay. But most end up serving their whole career in their respective countries.

It's a good program in my opinion, two countries that would otherwise have a hard time getting well trained quality docs get them and SGU gets to do something good for the country that hosts them. And well USA folks well we get to fulfill our dreams of becoming docs. So in the end everyone wins...the Chancellor of the school just happens to be the biggest winner since he's a gazillionaire.
