Right im going to dental school next year, so not started, yet people ask me questions like im already a dentist........ i obivously dont know the answers but im hoping u guys on here could have a bash at it.

This is the question ( this question isn't anything to do with me personally ):

hi
i had a top back (next to wisdom tooth) out last summer. it took dentist 45 mins to get out,he cut, drilled, pulled you name it,i thought he was gonna pop a baby out with all the grunting,he nearly broke my jaw trying to lever against it,but anyway it came out and i had loads of stitches and a massive hole that went up to the top of my mouth (on outside of gum) a week later in agony i went back, the stitches had burst he xrayed me to make sure it was all out and got another dentist to take a look as well, took out remaining stitches and i went home.not long after i could feel something sharp and went back as it still hurt and he found a piece of tooth that had worked its way down and dug it out,and i went home, anyway thats the story,my question is should i still have a huge hole right up to the top, will it heal and any ideas how long,it has closed a bit but seems to have stopped now.it hurts if get anything in it as well.dont want to go back till checkup as was dental phobic before i went and probably even more so now!
any advice would be appreciated
sorry to take advantage

Thankyou in advance 😳

I personnally have had a lot of experience with patients having your exact problem. Unfortunately it sounds like the dentist may have dug too deep and reached the base of your brain cavity. The piece of "tooth" was the inferior portion of your skull that houses your brain. My advice would be to go to the emergency room since what you have is a brain exposure due to surgical extraction of the wisdom tooth. Immediate care is recommended to prevent brain tissue infection and loss of memory. As long as you seek medical attention before an cranial infection takes place then you are o.k. Hope this helps.
