Any Ideas for Peds Board Review Materials

Our program currently is using Nelsons for board review. We do about 50 pages every two weeks. This is the most useless pursuit I have every engaged in (well ok, not really). The book is not designed for board prep and it certainly isn't designed to be read as an instruction manual for peds -- its a reference text.

Anyway -- what do your programs use (other than Prep) for this purpose. Please help me find an alternative or the insanity will continue.

While my program does not have a specific review course, I have found three books that are very useful:

1) Practical Strategies in Pediatric Diagnosis and Therapy by Kliegman which has chapters arranged by specific problems such as chest pain, murmurs, etc.

2) Pediatrics by Osborn. this is a textbook in a sense but is organized again by presenting problems and outlines knowledge needed by generalists.

3) Last Minute Pediatrics which is a quick and dirty study guide for the boards and is great for review.
