I just submitted my ERAS today to roughly 20 programs and got an invite from Oregon for an interview instantly. I live in the midwest so I don't know much about their program other than Portland would be a kickass city to spend 3-4 years in. Any info would be excellent...scutwork.com had nothing but good things to say.

Thanks,

Interviewed there for 05-06. Great city, up-and-coming program. The chair is from Hopkins and has been buffing the place pretty well. He seemed to be one of those rare folks who "gets people." I didn't rank it higher mostly because I was looking for a brand-name academic program with a strong emphasis on critical care, but I think they're trying to move in that direction. Unless you have your heart set on a UCSF, it's worth a look.

Super nice people, including chairman and program director. I enjoyed my visit there and I think portland is a chill place to live. I think you'd enjoy it. Residents seemed pretty happy when I visited. Dr. Kirsch seemed like a great guy. I highly recommend it if you want a smalller (~9 residents), cohesive program with great potential and on the rise. Talk to Dr. Dre. He is there and can tell you more.
