Any recommendations for the health insurance coverage between end of my residency and my attending job? (About a month)

You can retroactively utilize cobra from residency for, I believe, up to 2m if something happens in the interim.

Trump got rid of the penalty for not having insurance. So just don’t have it for a bit. If something catastrophic happens, you can retroactive cobra. I think it’s 60 day window so that should work out for you.

I bought a temporary policy through United because I moved 1000 miles from my training institution and their plan didn’t contract with anyone local to me. Cobra was theoretically available but how you gonna use it when nothing is in network.

If you considering cobra, make sure your old plan has coverage where you are.
