I am still waiting for my AMCAS to be verified (almost 3 weeks since I submitted it now) and I haven't received a secondary from UMass. Do they screen? Do they mail it or email it? How long until you received your secondaries?

On a side note, anybody submit their AMCAS around Sept 11? If so, when was yours verified?

I was complete 8/8, received an invitation by email on 8/21, and interviewed on 9/19.

It was my first interview, and I think I've done better on the other interviews I've had since then. (A piece of advice: if you can, try to schedule your first interview for one of the schools you're less excited about!) From my interview day, UMass seemed like a great place.

Just out of curiosity, how did you guys find out you were complete at UMASS? I don't remember getting any confirmation emails.

My SO has an interview at UMass tomorrow. He was complete sometime in early/mid August, and received an invite at the beginning of Sept.

I called Umass today, and they said their only starting to send invites out, so I'm wondering how some people got them over a month ago. Or is admissions continuously and consistently lying to me.
This'll probably be the third school I get axed from.

I got also got an invite yesterday, and as you can probably tell from my user name, I am a reapplicant. and a non-trad.

it sucks, considering how great Umass's price is 8K, can't beat that.

Man I'm really hoping they invite me soon. What are some of you guy's stats? I'm hoping its not my secondary essays that are the problem because I did mention the recent healthcare reform acts in a positive light....apparently doctors aren't cool with it.

I was invited 8/30, and at my interview date on 9/15 had at least 10 other MD applicants, I guess by "just starting" they meant a month ago, which for mid-application-process folks is an eternity. But then again, I am an MD/PhD applicant, so this probably is handled a little differently.

they may or may not be ED people. i don't understand how my file can be complete and under review for almost two months. Having the same problem at BU I guess.

It took about a month to come by email, but this was awhile ago, so take it as you will.

Did it take about a month after you submitted your primary to AMCAS or after your AMCAS was verified?

This was in June, so my AMCAS was verified two days after I sent it in...which is why the "about a month" might be incorrect, seeing as they probably have more apps to review now, and also waited until mid August to start reviewing

I would also be interested in learning more about your stats and what you thought of the school. I am a nontrad currently doing a postbacc at Hunter college in NYC, but Umass is by far my first choice. Did any of you do EDP? If so, did they give you an idea of how many applied/interviewed/admitted under EDP each year.
