Hi everybody -

I'm a reapplicant this year, and am hoping to find some people to still willing to edit PSs. I know I'm late in the game, but my MCAT retake score won't be back for another two weeks, and at this point verification isn't taking long because there are so few of us left! So, long story short, I got some awesome advice from readers last year, and I'm hoping someone's still in the mood for some editing. Thank you!

You're in a bit of a pickle, aren't you?

You took the MCAT late in 2008, got a mediocre score, and only applied to one school. Now you've retaken the MCAT late (again) in 2009, you're still not verified... and it's almost October!

That's not playing your cards very well. Perhaps there were mitigating circumstances, but it still looks bad. I'm not going to tell you not to apply this year. I mean, it's a total Hail Mary, but that's up to you.

Regardless of whether you choose to abandon ship, if your MCAT score is mediocre you need to retake in March or April, and between now and then you should do about 20,000 practice exams.

Well, the above points are true and valid, and I don't deny that I'm applying late (see original post). However, I was not rejected from my one school last year. Rather, I was waitlisted and implicitly told that my MCAT score was the hang up. This year, I will be verified and submitted about 6 days later than I was last year (using current verification times as an estimate), so I'm not forseeing a huge crisis in regard to my timing. In addition, I have indeed been spending my summers doing activities that will likely aid my application more than being an extra 3 or 4 weeks early would have.

And who knows, I may need to apply again, in which case I will take your MCAT advice. Until that time comes, I am focused on doing the best I can with this app season. If anyone else is willing to take a look, let me know. Thanks!
